M.I. Cables are used as an extension of thermocouples or can themselves be used as thermocouples. The M.I. cables are manufactured using Isomil or Tyco cables.
The advantages of M.I. thermocouple cables include availability in single-length assemblies from a minimum of 1 foot up to a maximum of 50 metres, making them easy to transport. Thermocouples can also be supplied in coil form.
The accuracy of M.I. assemblies is available in two classes:
Class 1: ±2.2°C
Class 2: ±1°C
These assemblies are highly flexible, allowing temperature measurement in locations where conventional base-metal thermocouples cannot be effectively installed. They are suitable for measuring temperatures in: Curved areas, Deep vessel tanks, Drums, Boilers, Bell furnaces, Vacuum furnaces, Rotary, Furnaces.
